For the past 140 years, Library and Archives Canada has been responsible for preserving and making accessible Canada’s documentary heritage. This extensive collection can be intimidating to navigate at first, however they have an amazing team who are extremely helpful and willing to help with your search.

The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is one of the foremost centers to find information on Canada’s immigration history. The museum contains over 400 years of immigration history, and offers reference services and help to research Canada’s rich history in immigration.

The Héritage project began in 2013, and is a 10-year long initiative working to digitize archival records that pertain to Canada’s history. This website contains over 41 million pages from the 17 to mid 20 century.
